This paper considered the features of biology, growth and quality of raw material Pale-Purple Conefl ower in Ukraine. The results of a study of fi rst selection variety pale-purple conefl ower “Krasunya preriy” (Prairie’s Beauty) derived by breeding selection are analyzed in article. Data on investigation results of the morphological features of pale-purple conefl ower are discussed. It has been established that growth activity was not rather high during the fi rst year of vegetation. It is pointed out that mass fl owering begins in May of the second year of vegetation and lasts from early spring to the late autumn, that it is very important for the organization of nectar obtained. The fact that in raw material of pale-purple conefl ower containing of hydrooxycinnamon acids (on chicory acid) slightly less in comparison with raw material of purple conefl ower is stressed.
