Climate change considerably influences the condition of forests, including those from the Republic of Moldova. In the international aspect, at the current stage, in the estimation of the negative impact of climate change on forests, increasingly is try to use some climatic indices that can adequately describe existing bioclimatic conditions. Among these is included the Forest Aridity Index, proposed by the Führer. In this paper, in the Republic of Moldova’ conditions, for the first time, are highlighted the pecularities of spatio-temporal manifestation of Forest Aridity Index, calculated for the period 1960-2015. We consider that the elaborated map of Forest Aridity Index could facilitate the selection of new tree species, provenances and genotypes that are more tolerant to current climate conditions. |
