Human capital is important for entrepreneurship, and skilled workers are a key resource for improving fi rms’ competitiveness. The study undertaken analyzes the situation of human capital as an important source for the entrepreneurial activity of the Republic of Moldova. As such, the present research is oriented towards the analysis of the most eloquent indicators of human capital in the Republic of Moldova, respectively the comparative analysis of these indicators in relation to other states in the region, based on international rankings and offi cial statistical data. The research techniques used consist in the analysis of secondary data of international organizations such as: World Economic Forum - Global Competitiveness Reports, World Intellectual Property Organization - Global Innovation Reports, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development - SME Policy Index. The research results reveal that, although there has been a positive dynamic in some areas that characterize entrepreneurial human capital (entrepreneurial training, digital skills of the active population), entrepreneurs of the Republic of Moldova continue to face significant challenges in terms of access to the workforce qualifi ed, as well as the insuffi cient professional skills of graduates of educational institutions. |
