The article presents the personality and works of the Romanian historian of Bessarabian origin Alexandru I. Gonța (10 august 1918 – 24 ianuarie 1977), formed at the school of teachers Al. Boldur and Ilie Minea. He is stated as one of the best connoisseurs of the Romanian medieval society in the East Carpathian region, who promoted new scientific ideas, based on a vast documentary material, facing the pressures of the communist regime. |
