Rezumat

Trafficking in human beings is still a problem for the Republic of Moldova. A serious challenge for combating trafficking in human beings is the variety of destinations and routes of trafficking, as well as forms of human exploitation. Trafficking fed on these problems pushing thousands of women, men and children into exploitation in various countries of the world and procuring traffickers and exploiters huge profits. A problem of this magnitude required a proportionate response - consistent efforts to prevent and prosecute the crime, as well as to protect and assist those who became its victims or risk falling into exploitation. Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings continues to be a priority for the Government of the Republic of Moldova, this fact being expressed in the national policies and commitments related to international standards. A developed regulatory and legal framework of the state policy in the field of combating trafficking in human beings has been created in Moldova, which includes special legislative and normative acts (law, National Action Plan, strategy, provisions/standard procedures to assist victims of trafficking in human beings).
