The poetic generation of the 80’s has been the object of Mihai Cimpoi’s critical research: on the one hand, critical articles focused exclusively on the creation of a generation representative, on the other, creating a portrait of the generation in A History of Romanian Literature from Bessarabia, the first and the only history of Bessarabian literature written in the postwar period. In the first edition of the book (1996) the academician Cimpoi expressed some reservations towards the stylistic novelty of the poetry written by that generation. In subsequent editions (1997, 2001, 2009) the poetics of the 80’s is recognized with greater vigor.
