International migration was an important part of the human history, but the speed, scope, complexity and volume of world migration under the global era are unprecedented. Evident influence of the globalization phenomenon on the configuration of international migration process determines the importance of study of the essence and basic aspects of this phenomenon. Additionally, the paper analyses the key EU policies in the field of regulation of the international migration flows, as despite the existence of the EU complex approach towards regulation of the migration processes, as some researchers point out, there is no EU level framework on migration that could be compared to fully-fledged national policies. Therefore, some common measures to prevent large numbers of irregular migrants from arriving in the EU, as well as to pursue a migration policy based on ensuring that inward migration is effectively managed and ensure that the need for enhanced mobility does not undermine the security of the Union's external borders are requested. |
