Article "Names of Easter products in the dialects of the Gagauz language: etymological notes" is dedicated to revealing the etymology of the names of Easter breads in Gagauz language and history of development of the meanings of borrowed lexemes. The etiology of lexemes paska, kozonak, kukla, guguşçuk, bublik, dermi, çevrä is considered. The nature of the persistence speaks about relatively late appearance in the Gagauz dialects of the Moldavian/Romanian and Slavic names of Easter products. For Greek words, the intermediary languages are the Bulgarian and Romanian languages, with which the Gagauz people had contacts throughout the history of the development path. |
