In an era of constant change and adaptation to environmental challenges, biodiver-sity conservation is becoming a global priority. The globally implemented biodiversity assessment mechanism plays a crucial role in this fight. Aware of the importance of pre-serving natural diversity, Moldova has adopted the biodiversity assessment mechanism as an integral part of its international environmental commitments. This initiative, which has been incorporated into national legislation, reflects a growing global concern to main-tain ecological balance and conserve natural resources for the benefit of future genera-tions. In order to identify and manage potential threats to biodiversity and to focus as-sessment efforts on activities that pose a significant risk to biodiversity, we propose an analysis of the scope of the biodiversity assessment mechanism.
