Rezumat

This work considers the effects of the overlapping crises on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). In particular, attention will mainly focus on the MSMEs within the Republic of Moldova, analyzing the way these enterprises were affected by two most recent external shocks: Covid-19 pandemic and the war launched by Russian Federation against Ukraine, in February 2022. Methodologically, this study use secondary data analysis provided by: the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), the World Bank Reports, the Expert-Group State of the Country Reports and Moldova Economic Growth Analysis as well as the most recent references in this field of research. In this work, we will first analyze the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on MSMEs development from Moldova; subsequently we will analyze MSMEs in the context of the war in the neighboring country. Furthermore, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's war in Ukraine has emphasized the need to support and increase the resilience of MSMEs. In this regard, policy recommendations for strengthening MSMEs resilience from Moldova will be drawn up.
