The calendar of Gagauz celebrations and traditions is organically linked to the ancient agrarian and pastoral occupations of the Gagauz, but also to the Greek-Bulgarian influence on the Orthodox religion, as the Gagauz are a Turkic Christian people. The structural and typological description of the calendar rituals of the Gagauz is very important to see how they have been preserved throughout history and also to ascertain the influences and linguistic aspects related to this theme. It is very important to take linguistic aspects into account in the study of the spiritual culture of the Gagauz people, as terminology allows us to follow the history and evolution of these traditions simultaneously.
