The article contains theoretical and methodological materials on the problem of the socio-pedagogical aspect of applied physical education at a university. Higher education should contribute to the development of the necessary knowledge and skills, as well as the formation of professionally significant and personal qualities of students that they need in their future professional activities. The author emphasizes that the purpose of training is the formation of a system of knowledge, skills that will be used by the student in his future life. It is proved that applied physical education in higher education is not only a means of strengthening and maintaining health, but also a way to develop personality traits that will be in demand in future professional activities.
