The purpose of the communication is to share some information related to the translation and propagation of Nicolae Dabija's work in the Hungarian literary space. This is a specific one, because for Hungarians, literature is the means of expressing their specific worldview and cultural identity. Literature is the way in which the community can understand itself and express its identity. The author of the presentation was born in Transylvania, in a Hungarian community near Brasov. She obtained her bachelor's degree majoring in Hungarian language and literature – German language and literature, as well as a doctorate in philology, specializing in stylistics at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj. She currenly lives in Hungary. As an invited university lecturer at "Alecu Russo" University in Balti, she had been teaching for four years Hungarian language and culture at USARB, when discovered and enjoyed the Dabija’s work, became friends with the great writer, and drew attention to short religious stories. The writer was happy about the attention given to short stories with a religious subtext, drawing attention, that "their topic also has an educational purpose, especially when it comes to the young generation". He contributed with an advice to the most exhaustive selection of short stories for the realization of a volume, insisting especially on the inclusion in the volume of the short stories from "Homework" related to father Ioan Florenschi. The first religious short story translated into Hungarian The Thirteenth Apostle - appeared in the year of the author's passing away, in 2021, in the Hungarian Writers' Union magazine from Budapest. The presentation refers, actually, to the process of literary translation, which is difficult on the one hand, but on the other hand it offers a unique aesthetic experience, makes it possible to penetrate the deep substrata of the text, a reserved pleasure - let's hope – not exclusive to the translator. The author hopes that the subtle meanings of the Dabijan text can be discerned and enjoyed by the Hungarian literary public. And Nicolae Dabija's book will reach and feel at home in the libraries and in the hands of Hungarian readers.
