Background. A scar is a dense formation of connective tissue that results from the regeneration of tissues after injury or inflammation. Functional and aesthetic disorders caused by scar deformities require complex treatment, including conservative and surgical measures. Objective of the study. The study of contemporary methods and the results of scar treatment. Development of effective treatment methods. Material and Methods. Anamnestic data, clinical examination, general and biochemical blood tests, scar photography before and after treatment were used. Results. Studying current data from the literature different approaches of the treatment of scar deformations were revealed: invasive (surgical excision, steroid injections, fluorouracil in the scar area, laser treatment, cryosurgery, dermabrasion, etc.) and non-invasive: (therapy by compression, silicone plates, gels, topical steroids, etc.). Studying the clinical cases, it was found that the scar after an incised wound is better removed by dermabrasion. Keloid scars removed better by surgical excision with steroid injections, fluorouracil in the scar area, and radiation therapy. Conclusion. Based on the studied data of modern literature and clinical cases, it was found that the method of treatment of scar deformations depends on the etiological factor of occurrence; for each case, it is necessary to select the treatment method individually. |
