Platelet-rich plasma is a revolutionary treatment as a biostimulation therapy used for the healing and regeneration of tissues. After a local infiltration with anesthesia, the pericoronal space is irrigated with sterile saline solution to remove the inflammatory exudate and food debris. 2-3 ml of MeaPlasma PRGF is infiltrated in mucousa at the level of the tooth, and the rest of the contents are soaked in a sterile gauze and applied under the operculum for 15 min. The next day, or after 2 days it was performed the tooth extraction and one more time the plasma was injected next to the fresh socket. The patients were assessed for pain, edema and tissue healing on the 1st, 3rd and the 7th postoperative day. Also it was determined that is a significant reduction of facial swelling, acceleration of tissue regeneration and insignificant reduction of pain after the complex treatment performed with the injection of plasma enriched with platelets and growth factors (PRGF) after the MeaPlasma method, in the postextractional socket. This method consists in treating acute and/or chronic pericoronitis, by solving the inflammatory process on the one hand and triggering the natural processes of tissue healing on the other hand. |
