Rezumat

The word heritage is of Latin origin and refers to inheritance. Th ere are numerous criteria and principles of heritage classifi cation, but generally are accepted and promoted the hollowing: cultural and natural heritage, mobile and immobile heritage, tangible and intangible heritage. Th e notion heritage has entered a long time ago into the scientifi c and public vocabulary; it found a proper refl ection in special scientifi c literature from the republic and from abroad, in national and international legal framework. Th e Council of Europe, UNESCO, the European Union, ICOM elaborated tenth of normative acts, diff erent conventions which regulate aspect related to the preservation and protection of cultural heritage, of historic and cultural monuments, of cultural and natural heritage. Th e heritage studies is a new discipline, despite powerful humanistic associations with old and new names specifi c to historic, geographic and political sciences. Th ere is a strong connection between the heritage studies and museology, culturology and ethnology. In general, the notions of heritage and heritage studies presume a category of value which means not only the preservation of the value, but also its development. In relation to this, heritage science is regarded as a science which focuses on identifi - cation, study and protection of cultural and natural heritage, mobile and immobile heritage, tangible and intangible heritage. Th e educational system of Republic of Moldova does not provide any discipline generally related to heritage. However, we must admit that most humanistic disciplines treat to some extent problems of national and universal heritage. Not a single department from Moldova, humanistic or natural sciences, off ers courses focusing specifi cally on heritage at undergraduate studies level (cycle I). Only in 2009, the State Pedagogical University „I. Creangă” introduced a Master Course “Historic heritage and cultural tourism”. Also, the State University of Moldova made some attempts at introducing a new Master Major – Protection of heritage, but without any success until now. It is a good idea to have a general introduction course into heritage at the undergraduate level (cycle I) in order to have some coherence and continuity with the Master course which was introduced at the State Pedagogical University „I. Creangă”. Such a course is necessary to provide knowledge about the place of heritage science within humanistic sciences, about heritage theory and principles of heritage classifi - cation. Th e course will help the student to enter the world of national and universal heritage, will make understand what is important and valuable, will form a responsible attitude towards issues of protection, valorifi cation and preservation of heritage, and will also help off er an integrated framework of heritage knowledge.
