Rezumat

Former wetlands irrigated AluvisoiIs, from the meadow below the Inferior Dniester`s terraces, are widely distributed on the territory of Copanca, Causeni district. Irrigation of these soils was started about 50 years ago after big work for construction of protection dykes against fl ooding and wetlands drainage. Groundwater level has been lowered to a depth of 1.5-2.5 m. Investigations showed that irrigated aluvisoiIs from the former wetlands were formed under the infl uence of the alluvial, gleyic and humus accumulation processes. Composition of investigated soil profi le confi rms cyclical process of pedogenesis in the meadow below the terraces of the Inferior Dniester as a result of different intensity ratio of listed processes manifestation in various historical periods. Irrigated aluvisoiIs from the former wetlands are characterized by clayey texture, medium physical condition of the recently arable layer and poor for underlying layer. Content of mobile forms of phosphorus and potassium in the arable layer and the underlying horizon is large and humus content (as for clay soils) - it is considered as low. The main measure of the irrigated clay aluvisoiIs from the former wetlands quality state remediation should be directed to increase the fl ow of organic matter in arable layer and restore their structure and use under vegetable crops.
