Contemporary pedogenesis in the Carpathian-Danubian-Pontic region is determined by natural factors (climate, geology, biological) under intensified human impacts to the extent that we see a new stage in soil evolution. The basic components of this anthropogenesis are: 1) Human-driven processes and functioning of the soil, in particular the processes that determine soil structure; 2) Changes to soil organic matter expressed in changing, thickness, content and composition of humus; 3) Changing thickness and depth of carbonates and migration processes; 4) Man-made arable horizons; 5) Deformation and compaction. |
