Recent investigations have established the partial or complete slowing/braking of the ammonia oxidation process in river water in the presence of calcium carbonate particles. In this paper there were analyzed the waters of the sections of the Nistru river downstream of Soroca and that of the Prut river, after the discharge of partially treated waters from the Ungheni biological treatment plant. The above effect was recorded when adding calcium carbonate powder to laboratory models of river waters. The oxidation brake of the soluble mineral forms of nitrogen takes place at the NH4 + → NO2 - stage and especially at the oxidation stage of the nitrite ion. Laboratory models containing mixtures of surfactants (active agents of surfactants, AAS) in the absence and presence of CaCO3 particles were studied. Lauryl sulfate (LS) was used as the anionic AAS, and the cationic AAS were cetyl-trimethylammonium (CTMA), N-cetyl-pyridine (N-CPy) and tetrabutylammonium (TBA). Priority separation of anionic AAS was registered, as well as the decomposition of the An•AAS•Ct complex. Separation of the cationic AAS is possible simultaneously with anionic ones on the surface of calcium carbonate particles. At the same time, there was a decrease in the concentration of cationic AAS when adding CaCO3 particles and ammonium ions. Mainly, the separation of AAS with large organic radicals (CTMA, N-CPy) takes place. In conclusion, cationic AAS separation is possible in the presence of NH4 + and calcium carbonate particles. |
