The article examines some conceptual, theoretical and applicative aspects regarding the need for the functioning of an efficient governance for the society in the Republic of Moldova. Particular attention is paid to the views expreseed by various political thinkers and contemporary researchers on the model of “good institutions” and, respectively, of a “good” governance. The distinct features of a democratic governance and the factors that can determine good governance in the context of the democratization and political modernization of the society are highlighted. It is concluded that the process of developing a “good” democracy and a “good” governance is trying to take root in the Republic of Moldova as well. This process is closely linked to the need to extend and deepen the principles of good governance (participation and orientation to success, responsibility and responsiveness, law enforcement and transparency, efficiency and effectiveness, social equity and inclusion, etc.), which would become, at the same time, strategic activities of policy makers in the act of governance. |
