The advantageous geographical location of the rivers Prut, Dniester and the Danube led to its attractiveness for many nations. A huge time range of the historical development of the Bessarabia region contains many important events and phenomena that have left deep traces in the region's fate. The complexity of ethno-cultural processes in the lower reaches of the Danube, especially the intervention of the great powers, did not contribute to strengthening the position of the Danube principalities. The brilliant historical period of the formation of Moldova and Wallachia will take place under the influence of empires that sought to dominate the Northern Black Sea region. The possibility of dialogue with several civilizations at the same time has created in Moldova a unique phenomenon of accelerated cultural development.
