Rezumat

The juvenile delinquency represents one of the most complex social phenomena of major importance which can multilaterally affect the functioning of the family, social and state institutions. Due to the specific situation of the Republic of Moldova such as the transitional era, the precarious economic situation, the issue of migration, the insufficient preparation of the population for transitional life, the corrupt political system, violence and its growth lately put their imprints mostly on adolescents that are in the process of forming their personality and identity. And it automatically contributes to the growth of the juvenile delinquency phenomenon. In our research we try by analyzing data from 16 interviewed detainees to identify the specific and common characteristics of different interviewed offenders such as: age, type of crime, mode of crime (individually or in groups), family situation, family relationship, socio-economic situation of family, education and age. The interviewees are between 16-18 years old, of which there are 14 boys and 2 girls. All of them came to the penitentiary in the period 2018-2020. Most committed offenses of theft, robbery under Articles 186, 187, 188. One committed an offense of rape under Article 171. One of the subjects is a teenager charged under Article 206, trafficking in children. Of the accused, 3 are also convicted under Article 145, intentional murder under the age of 18. An extremely important point is that most of the crimes committed by the perpetrators in our investigation committed the crime in a group and not alone. 11 out of 16 cases, about 70% committed a group crime. Another aspect that reveals our research is the fact that 85% of crimes were committed by criminals in urban areas, only 15% come from rural areas. From the point of view of the family relationship, 10 come from single-parent families, and 6 are part of complete families, where the parents get along well. In conclusion, we can confirm that juvenile delinquency is one of the most current issues for researchers and any analysis or research can contribute directly or indirectly to the development and change of our society.
