The purpose of this article is to present the background of task-based language teaching, define a task, describe the main approaches to task-based language teaching, specify basic characteristics of task-based language teaching, emphasize the importance of task-based language teaching as a potent strategy for maximizing language learning and teaching, elaborate on the advantages and difficulties of task-based language teaching, and discuss the roles of the teacher and the learner in TBL. |
