Foreign languages have always occupied an important place in the instructive-educational process, the reason being the extent of the current interest in English communication. Given the fact that the education system is oriented towards competence based learning, the development of communicative skills in English, which provides one of the key competencies for lifelong learning, is the link that ensures the successful integration into the social life of our educated people. Numerous studies state that the formation and development of English language proficiency is the fundamental factor in the process of developing a linguistic, cultural and international awareness. The study will focus on the methods and procedures adapted to the 21st century, depending on the students’ interests and needs, some techniques based on motivated and conscious learning, focusing on communicative, and creative exercises and of course putting an emphasis on the development of independent work. We will try to summarize some of the issues/challenges in the process of directing activities that help the student progress through self-discipline, self-assessment, dedication, and determination to meet future challenges. |
