Rezumat

The paper presents the results of the evaluation of the productivity and quality of fruit in tomatoes. It was found that the highest productivity showed the lines L 303, L 305, L 307, L 311 and L 310 which recorded values of 59.2; 62.5; 63.7; 63.2; 70.1 t/ha, respectively. As a result of the analysis of the variability of the biochemical characters in tomatoes, a high value and quality of the fruits was found. The cluster analysis by the centroid method of k-means established that the groups of genotypes, separated into 3 distinct clusters, demonstrate the similarity or difference between them based on the evaluated characters. The cluster with lines L 302, L 304 recorded the highest values of biochemical characteristics (dry matter - 7.5%, sugars - 4.5%, acidity - 0.46, C vitamin - 29.32 mg%), they thus showing interest in the breeding process when creating varieties with high taste properties.
