In the Republic of Moldova, a new conception of continuous professional training for the National Library System (NLS) is gradually being reshaped. Non-formal education is becoming a permanent requirement for the skills required of librarians, determined by the evolution of the national cultural and educational sector. Continuing education centers are already a reality, with a well-defined field of activity and concrete tasks related to the non-formal education of librarians to use information technologies and diversify services for users. The author identifies the structures of non-formal education, training topics, statistical indicators on the organization of educational activities for specialized staff in libraries. Based on a similarity between teacher and librarian, the author assigned various roles, functions to specialized staff in libraries. In order to improve the process of continuous training, recommendations have been proposed for library centers that provide non-formal education on determining the forms, content and training methods of NLS staff. |
