Rezumat

The article includes the results of research of the features of the growth and development of 38-45-year-old forest cultures with the participation of European yew (Taxus baccata L.), created by planting of seedlings in a variety of categories of forest-cultivated areas (woodlands, fresh limberings, plots after reconstruction of low-value plantations, etc.). These cultures were created in the forests of the state enterprise "Kolomyya forestry enterprise" (IvanoFrankivsk region, where yew berry is represented by the largest area of natural plantations of the species in Ukraine.) It has been proved that the cultivation of European yew (Taxus baccata L.) in artificial forest plantations for classical technologies creation and cultivation of forest cultures cannot provide adequate preservation and high quality of such plantations of rarity. Besides this, the presence in the region of the necessary soil and climate conditions for the successful cultivation of yew, seed base and experience in growing planting material allows us to recommend the expansion of the volumes created by artificial forest plantations of rare species of native vegetation.
