The Azerbaijan is one of the world’s oil production centers as in the past, and currently, at the same time, it is one of the main sources of environmental pollution on a regional scale. Azerbaijan has sea borders with the four countries, they are Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and also land borders with Russia, Georgia, Turkey and Armenia. The states do not pay proper attention to environment protection and the necessity of removal dirt and waste products from the water and of the land area with in conformity with international standards. Exact information about the contribution of the coastal countries in the Caspian Sea pollution does not exist, but the papers say that Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan contribute to pollution of the Caspian Sea more than others. Studies have shown that pollution caused by Iran, is related to more domestic and farm wastes, but Iran is not involved in the oil pollution of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijan is one of the largest of Petroleum Producers in the Caspian Sea. The oil fields of Azerbaijan, especially Guneshli, Chirag, Absheron, Nakhchivan, MuganDeniz, oil refineries and petrochemical plants are considered to Baku are the main sources of pollution of the Caspian Sea, as the use of inappropriate technologies of oil production, they clean only part of oil production and the rest of it is thrown into the water. It caused oil spots in the Caspian Sea. Over recent years till 2012 about 25 million tons of oil weight was collected over 100 km off the coast of Iran. Besides, the Caspian Sea is the main point of Baku’s wastewater. Sewer discharge from Baku together with the oil pollution creates severe pollution in the Caspian Sea. Sewer wastes from Baku together with the oil pollution create severe pollution in the Caspian Sea. Studies show that such impurities settle on the sea bottom and form the layer of oil slimes of a half meter in height. Such areas are called dead zones. Plants do not grow there, marine animals are killed nothing inhabit there. However, if earlier the bottom of the Caspian Sea was covered with beautiful marine plants and today some parts of the Caspian Sea is completely lifeless. Oil pollution also caused to the death of phytoplankton, which play an important role in fish nutrition. There is another no less powerful source of contamination, pollution of the environment with oil at the oil and gas extraction and processing. This is natural oil seeps and gas connected with mud volcanoes and oil secretions from the depths. The report facts will be given acting influences on the environment, including marine, as the man-made and natural oil output the comparative analysis of their ratio and possible measures to prevent pollution at a regional scale.
