The effect of Tobacco mosaic virus and Potato X virus on morphologic and yield components was studied in F1 tomato hybrids. The values of heterosis in three F1 tomato hybrids were positive for all analyzed traits and ranged between 1.2-51.0. The results of this experiments showed a significant decrease of yield in infected plant; the almost of morphologic traits were also significantly reduced. Seeds number from fruit was the most affected trait, showing decrease with 19-52 % compared with non infected plants. Analysis of variance reveal that the biggest contribution to fruit weight and seeds number was attested for genotype and virus infection and less for brush position. |
