У статті автор аналізує положення проектів законів, спрямованих на вдосконалення інституту суду присяжних у кримінальному процесі в Україні. Дослідження низки пропонованих нововведень, серед яких – збільшення кількості присяжних, розмежування колегії професійних суддів і непрофесійних з виокремленням окремих повноважень для кожної, дали змогу сформулювати висновки про можливу зміну моделі суду присяжних з континентальної на класичну – англосаксонську.

In the framework of this article the author analyzes the provisions of the draft laws aimed at the improvement of the institute of the jury trial in the criminal process in Ukraine. The research of a number of the suggested legal developmemts, among which there are an increase in the number of jurors, the delineation of the panel of professional and lay judges, with the allocation of individual authorities to each of them, presented an opportunity to conclude about the possible change of the jury trial model from the Continental to the classical one – the Anglo-Saxon.
