This article is dedicated to metastatic ovarian tumors accounting for 5-30% of all ovarian tumors. The most common primary localizations are: stomach in 70%, followed by colon (14%), breast (4%), bile ducts (3%), vermiform appendage (3%), genital organs and other locations in 3%. The study group consisted of 47 patients with metastatic ovarian tumors who were hospitalized and treated in the Oncological Institute of Moldova during the period 2012-2017. The most common primary localizations of metastatic ovarian tumors in the study group was the gastrointestinal tract, namely: the stomach in 22 cases constituting 47% and the recto-sigma in 4 cases (8,5%). Other localizations were: uterus in 15 patients representing 32%, followed by mammary gland in 3 patients (6,4%), uterine cervix in 2 cases which is 4,3% and 2,1% (1 case) the primary tumor was not found. |
