This research refers to Artemisia annua L., a promising aromatic and medicinal species which is currently the subject of phytochemical investigation due to its chemical diversity and artemisisin content with important therapeutic effects. The aim of the study is focused on habitat evaluation, bio-productivity assessment, and volatile oil content of A. annua from natural populations in order to identify and capitalize their economic potential at local level. The biometric parameters, biomass production and essential oil content of studied species registers variations depending on the type of habitat, fact determined by different edaphic and climatic conditions from southern to northern parts of the country.
