In this article one of the key images of our traditional art founded its expression, which explicitly constitutes the lyrical substance of more works of D. Matcovschi. The respective author reveals a complexity of feelings, emotions, inner restlessness, guiding the reader within complex meditations on man, to the contemplation of all the labyrinths of human nature. In the poetry of D. Matcovschi, the longing is a sacred aesthetic category, it defines „the most authentic modern testament” of the native spirit, and it sees a criterion of aesthetic evaluation, promotion of some attitudes and values taken from the experience of the people, of the treasure of his spiritual wealth.
