Rezumat

An investigation of the temporal changes in the toluene concentration in water for the toluene-water-air system has been carried out for a range of initial contents of toluene. Dynamics of the optical density on the wavelength 258 nm was measured experimentally to record the temporal changes. It was found that the toluene concentration in water reaches its maximum within 20-45 min for the whole range of the initial concentrations. The tail concentrations in all experiments approach to quite low values that may evidence low end-contents of toluene in the water systems without a separate toluene phase.
