В статье рассматривается проблема организации деятельности маяков на побережье Черного и Азовского морей в 1885–1913 гг. Указывается, что правовые основы для их работы были заложены в «Положение об управлении Морским ведомством», принятом 3 июня 1885 г. В составе морского министерства был создан гидрографический департамент, в ведении которого и находились маяки. На местах контроль деятельности маяков и их смотрителей был возложен на специальных должностных лиц в основных военноорских портах империи, в изучаемый период таким был порт г. Николаев. К 1913 г. на побережье Черного и Азовского морей действовали десятки маяков, часть из них находилась в портах.

The article considers the problem of organization of activities of lighthouses on the coast of the Black and Azov seas in 1885–1913. Organizationally lighthouses were transferred to the Naval Ministry by decree of 24 August 1827 «About the preventive formation the Ministry of the Navy». Within the Ministry the office of Governorhydrograph was established, at the first part of which was entrusted with the «The case for monitoring the lighthouses in relation to the sailing directions». With the beginning of the era of reform, modifications involved the system of management of lighthouses. By 1913 on the coast of the Black and Azov seas were dozens of lighthouses, some of them were in the ports. Some lighthouses were equipped with automatic sirens for activities during fog, others for this purpose was hanged bells.
