Most employers and employees consider stress at work as being normal. There are some employees who feel the stress more severely than their colleagues and when its effects exceed the resistance and capacity of adaptation, employees get sick and need to take medical leave and medical treatment to restore health. Employers point out other effects of stress at work: decrease of productivity, reduction of income and increase of expenses for replacing workers which finally can lead to bankruptcy. For the governance the above effects of stress at work in time turn into an alarming increase of health care spending and reduce national income.
Practicing medicine has become one of the most stressful occupations. Causes generating such states begin with poor working conditions and go up to low salaries which do not cover the needs. |
