Rezumat

In our research, the subject of physical training of players during the preparatory period of special training is the main and most important factor that contributes to the development of other, not less important, aspects of the training. The team that has the best physical training has the opportunity to apply multiple tactics in the competitions. The low level of physical training is negatively reflected on the athletes' will, compromises the ability to acquire and resist during training and competitions, and leads to lack of performance. Material and methods The aim of this research: to assess the football players' physical condition during the special training period. Organization of the research: The main source of information for identifying the problems, and the reason for choosing this theme, was the data obtained from using the questionnaire method. The questionnaire was designed to obtain information about the contents of the physical training sessions, and their effect on the players' bodies. Results. The analysis of the questionnaire results gathered from the football coaches has shown that during the special training periods, they think as basic qualities the coordination ability and special endurance within the team, this being linked to the fact that during the training period the physical fitness of the players is contoured. The training sessions are conducted with an emphasis on developing the strength-speed and endurance qualities for competitions, by applying the method of circuit and frontal training. Conclusions  The results obtained in this research allowed us to observe the importance of approaching the physical training in different ways during the special training sessions. Also, should be emphasized the importance of careful planning in applying the physical exercises during the training process.  The assessment of the physical training during the special training sessions allows us to better coordinate the training process for the competitions.
