Rezumat

Introduction: Health-related quality of life is the perception of one's physical and mental health over time. It (HRQoL) goes beyond traditionally diagnosable health out-comes to provide a measure of well-being, becoming an important area of health monitoring. At the same time, HRQoL is used outside of Public Health in areas such as Psychology, Social Work and to determine the social burden of disease. Aim of the study: This study sought to explore the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health-related quality of life of the general population through self-perception. Material and methods: The cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted in July 2023. Questionnaire SF-36 reflects the general well-being and the level of satisfaction with human life by the interviewees. This model has three levels: 36 items (questions), 8 scales: (I) physical function; (ii) physical role; (iii) somatic pain; (iv) general health; (v) vitality; (vi) social function; (vii) emotional role; (viii) mental health, which aggregates items, and 2 generic concepts (Physical health and Mental Health), which aggregates the scales. The privacy principles of personal data, the right to leave the research were respected in all eight compartments. Results: The research group was consisting of 177 people (practically healthy-at the supervision of the family doctor), who had in their anamnesis a history of COVID-19, and who completed the standard questionnaire SF-36 with google forms. Of the total respondents, 143 (80.79%) were women. The medium age (SD) of respondents was 47(11) years. During 6-9 months, most respondents improved their score of mobility, regular activity, somatic pain and anxiety. In addition, according to SF-36, patients had showed clinically relevant improvements in physical health, while no significant changes in mental health were found. Conclusion: The self-perception of the patients through the SF-36 was totally reflected on the health status recorded by the family doctor in the medical record, the SF-36 questionnaire being a tool with high credibility. Items, physical aspects, CVLS in post-COVID-19 patients improved relevantly during 6-9 months. Thus, further studies are needed to investigate the evolution of symptoms over time, as well as treatment strategies on the impact of health-related quality of life.
