A review of scientific articles published between 2011 and 2020 through various biomedical research platforms was performed. Across Europe, changes in health policies accelerated from the eighties in order to contain the expenditure growth and ensure the sustainability of the health systems. Within these social systems, which present complexity in terms of change, leadership is seen as a key ingredient, pointed out in several studies as having the capacity to influence the results that are sensitive to nursing care. Nurses, as leaders, are the cornerstone for “influencing their team in order to achieve shared goals, with the main purpose of meeting the health needs of patients and their families”. Improvement in quality of hospital care is a crucial factor for an efficient health system. The patient perspective i increasingly recognised as a central pillar of quality in hospital care. The measurement of patient’s satisfaction remains to be one of the most simple way for medical services quality evaluation, considering the next elements: technical s interpersonal side, availability, disponibility of the resources for health care and continuance of them. The quality of sanitar services is approached differently from the point of view of each category of actors implied in the medical services market: the government, the patients, the medical personal and the managers of sanitary organizations. Patient interaction with health care provider, room accommodation and hygiene and cleaning influence considerable patients’ satisfaction. Patient trust is one of the most significant predictor of patient satisfaction, being shaped by perceived high quality of service delivery, empatic and caring interpersonal interations. Pain management services, information on the services to be provide, as well as availability of medicines and supply had positive impact. Satisfaction with nursing has the most significant impact on overall satisfaction. Higher staffing per bed was also associated with higher level of patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is an important performance dimension that provides healthcare managers with usefull insights for imporoving care quality. Improving communication skills and health literacy in health care providers could improve patiens’ satisfaction and overall quality of health care.
