The importance of the protection of private life not only in the personal domain of the person, but also extends to the professional domain, where secret information is decisive for the smooth running of the activity and ensuring a minimum degree of safety and trust. Social reality, the diversity of social relations, involves the interaction between people and situations that require the transmission of certain personal, confidential data regarding the intimate life of people of different categories of professionals. Exercising certain professions allows access to personal information, a circumstance that calls for trust in these professionals, namely that they will not divulge or communicate data to other people or to take care of the danger, being otherwise endangered and even harmed to the person’s own life. The professional secrecy to which certain professional categories are kept, constitutes a guarantee of confidentiality, the person who needs to provide certain information feeling protected by the introduction of these obligations on the part of those who took note of personal data during the exercise of the profession. |
