Rezumat

The term „creativity” has its origin in the Latin word "creare" which means "to father", "to make", "to create", "to give birth". The very etymology of the word proves to us that the term creativity defines a dynamic act, which develops, completes itself, defines a process, which includes both the origin and the goal. It was introduced into psychology by G.W.Allport, to denote a personality formation. In his opinion, creativity cannot be supported only by some of the categories of personality manifestations, namely skills, attitudes or temperamental traits. Creativity is defined in the Encyclopedic Dictionary (1993) as "the complex trait of the human personality, denoting the ability to create something new, original. Sociologists understand by creativity the disposition that orients individuals and groups towards the production of inventions."
