Noting the growing number of acts of bribery in the current Romanian society, specialized literature focused on observing the criminal phenomenon, the causes that determine it, but also on finding solutions to reduce this phenomenon. One of the main problems of the state power, of public opinion and of all those interested in reforming criminal justice on scientific, democratic bases, has become the elimination of corruption in the form of bribery and influence peddling. The crime of bribery was criminalized in the Criminal Code precisely because the legislator understood the seriousness of this fact that affects individual and social relations, which, in view of a good and correct social development, imposed norms of behavior intended to capitalize on the positive potentials of society and imposed the fulfillment of the obligations established in the honest and ethical performance of the duties of the functions entrusted to them.
