Rezumat

A rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of low levels of palladium (II) with 2,2′-dipyridine-2,4-dinitrobenzoic acid-molecular complex (DDC) is proposed. A 1:1 water - soluble chelate has an absorption maximum at 312 nm with ε = (4.6 ± 0.2) × 105 1 × mol-1 × cm-1 in the presence of fold-excess of EDTA as mass masking agent. Under the conditions used there is negligible interference of 17 cations (including silver, platinum and ruthenium) and seven anions investigated. Beer's law is obeyed up to 10-4 M × L-1 of palladium.
