This article, for the first time in the history of science, highlights the main points of the process of formation and development, in the 1960s, of such a research area as linguistic Gagauz studies, within the framework of the activities of the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. Some of the most successful developments of this period include the fundamental research “Vulcanesti dialect of the Gagauz language” by B. P. Tukan and the compilation of an academic Gagauz-Russian-Moldavian dictionary. |
