The author of the article studies the criminal subculture of the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times (Early Modern Period) and tries to recreate the image of a criminal in the history of European civilization. Criminal subculture is an archaic phenomenon. The article asks for an analysis of the causes of crime, the attitude of various circles of society to it. The author identifies the factors that contributed to the manifestation of deviant behavior in the form of criminals, offers a classification of crimes committed in Europe in the period under study, reveals the socio-professional composition of criminals, types of criminals and types of punishment. The institutional history of law is a promising and innovative direction of modern scientific research. |
