The author of the article analyzes the English translation of the olonkho ―Eles Bootur‖ by P. Ogotoev. The sense of the source text and its stylistic colouring are reflected in the translation. The translator uses the Yakut words and expressions quite moderately to make them more understanding for the readers. But when translating the source text into English some derogations have been made. |
