In recent years, we have been witnessing a phenomenon involving hundreds
of thousands of Moldovan citiezens with implications on several levels, including
abroud. The great number of Moldavians working abroad constitutes a reliable
capital and a capital for the future of our country. The present dimension
of migration favored by the economicchaos, poverty proliferation, extremely
low salaries and no jobs, undoubtedly influence all the spheres economic, social
and political life, the country′s development as a whole. This article presents the
specific traits of the migration of the population of the Republic of Moldova to
work in Russian Federation are emphasized, the role and change of behaviour
of the Moldovan migrants are analyzed, as well as the influence of the migration
on the changes of values of the Moldavians who migrate to work in Russian
Federation. The Russian Federation receives every year a significant number
of working migrants from the different countries, especially from the Republic
of Moldova. Nevertheless there is no special program for the adjustment and integration
of the working migrants.
For most of the migrants, the migration process is not only connected to the
change of the living place or work, people change their behavior, their values
and stereotype. Most migrants conform themselves to the generally accepted social
norms and act according to the dominant social values. Migration has an
impact on all aspects of life, affecting them one way or the other. It has changed
people′s lifestyles, behavior, the way of thinking and their outlooks. Equally,
migration has affected the value hierarchy of the Moldavians, built differently
20-30 years ago. |
