| Rezumat | ||||||
The mission of human rights is to protect the individual against the power of the state. After the political transformation of the state in 1989 the Polish police was criticized for breaking standards of human rights. There was an obvious need for raising these standards. One of the most important initiatives in this area is the creation The Network of Plenipotentiaries of Police Chiefs For Human Rights. Plenipotentiaries apply various law acts and procedures in fulfilling their duties related to implementing standards of policing, especially concerning respect for human dignity and fundamental rights and freedoms. The Polish police has adopted all the standards of the Council of Europe and the European Union in this area. |
