In the given article, reference is made to the importance of the local cultural heritage, which represents a platform for study and research in the valorization of the cultural heritage of our state. Local heritage is protected through concrete actions to identify, protect, process, preserve, conserve and promote for the noble purpose of using this heritage for future generations., this mission falls to a great extent to the library institution. As a priority for the “Tudor Arghezi” Arts Library, Branch of the network of the Municipal Library “B.P. Hasdeu”, is the study of local heritage in the cultural-artistic field and the elaboration of bibliographic products, constantly keeping the aspect of topicality and importance of the research. The given objective is achieved on the basis of the library's activity – the involvement of the general public, of the personalities in the field, the use of the library resources in the selection of the subjects we want to investigate. The subject addressed becomes further the content of study and research in the library. A bibliographic work specific to the artistic field means the in-depth research of the theme, in which the sources of information consulted are discovered, so as to allow the reader to become acquainted with a concrete period in the evolution of the given field or to know in detail the life and creative work of some personalities.
