Rezumat

Currently in Greece the Gagauz are inhabiting mainly three regions. The largest group of Gagauz villages is located in northern Greece, in the villages around the city of Nea Orestiada and Didymoteicho. The area of Nea Orestiada: Amovouno, Arzos, Valtos, Dilofos, Furio, Kavili, Kanadas, Keramos, Kliso, Krios, Kiprinos, Lepetit, Inoi, Ormenio, Pali, Plati, Pyrgos, Sagini, Sakkos, Spileo, Phylacio. In the area of Didymoteicho: in villages Asvestades, Eugenico, Kosti, Pulia, Savra. There are some Gagauz village around Komotini, Amphia and Nea Calista, Ksanti, Hrisohorafa and New Zihni, Serres, Lagada, Iraklio, Perivolaki and Thessaloniki, as well as Gagauz families scattered in the prefecture of Kilkis and villages of the Thessaly. During the rule of the Ottoman Empire Gagauz inhabited the European part of the region of Thrace. You can make a list of Gagauz villages in the vicinity of Edirne in the late XIX - early XX centuries, based on the evidence of the Greek Gagauz, whose ancestors lived in Turkey. These villages are Havsa, Baba-Eski, Kyzyl Agach, Azatly, Kara-Kasim, Olpasha, Sharaplar, Aslaan, Kuleli, Imam Pazar, Osmanli, Karasykly, Tatar, Indzhekioy etc. The second group of Gagauz settled in Greek Macedonia, where they founded the new villages Hrisohorafa and Callisto. The inhabitants of these villages are mostly immigrants from Turkey, from the village of Kara Halil , nearby the town of Kirklareli (Lozengrad). The third group of Gagauz inhabits Greek Macedonia in Nea Zihni, but this group of Gagauz, unlike the first two, are indigenous to the area. Cultural and ethnic characteristics of the Gagauz inhabiting Turkish and Greek appear in dialects of Gagauz language, as well as local differences in spiritual and everyday culture.
